A Great Activity For Toddlers
And For You

Swimming is a great activity for toddlers, and you. You’ll love the excitement and stimulation of taking your toddler to a water baby class, and it’s also a great way of meeting other like-minded people.

Firstly, you cannot teach a baby to swim, leg and arm movements at this stage of development are instinctive and not done through thought. However, young babies who are doing water baby classes develop this ability sooner that those who don't.

They can be as young as 12 to 18 months when they start to kick their legs, or use their arms by choice, but they still can't co-ordinate both.

Learning to swim at an early age, not only helps babies and toddlers physical development advance, it also helps their power of concentration, reaction velocity, and intelligence, as well as favorable social behaviour, at preschool age.

This is a great way for you to relax and help your toddler advance, both physically and mentally, with studies showing, that babies who had already taken part in swimming training at three months old, were not only more skilful in their movements, but also more self-confident and independent, in comparison to their contemporaries, as preschool children.

At the same time, it seems to influence the way in which the child and parent deal with one another – that is to say that more and more independence is given, or even urged upon the child.

This again influences the pleasure of achievement and development of intelligence.

In the social area, “swimming children” were more willing to make contact and adjusted themselves better in the group of contemporaries.

They were more independent and less timid.

They could cope with new and strange situations better and their efficiency motivations rose steadily in the test period.

Early child water movement training develops an area, which enables the child to have successful experiences relatively easily.

This lifts self-confidence and advances independence.

These young swimmers are also better at listening and learn to concentrate in a class situation, be it pool or the classroom.

By doing this activity for toddlers, it will help your toddler concentration in other toddler activities, and make them more enjoyable for you both.

So check what water activity for toddlers are going on in your area.
