Educational Computer Games
For Kids..... Do They Exists?

There is a sea, of educational computer games for kids out there. Today children can find out so much at the touch of a button, through the internet and computer games, your child can see history events unfold in front of them, or even, creating their own societies.

Educational software for kids will show your child how to learn and have fun at the same time, which will provide your children a foundation for future years of learning.

The way that computer games have developed as educational tools, has brought the possibility of these tools becoming a big part of school curriculum.

Educational computer games for kids have significant educational value.

Study’s have shown that simulation and adventure games-such as Sim City and Roller Coaster Tycoon, where players create societies or build theme parks, develop children’s strategic thinking and planning skills.

Parents and teachers also thought their children’s mathematics, reading and spelling improved!!

It has however, been commented in the media, that computer games are a solitary activity, and that children are isolated. But now children have the opportunity, and indeed prefer to play in pairs or small groups.

Through computer games children are now working together, negotiating, planning, using strategic thinking and decision making, these are skills that will benefit their future learning and living.

Where a child may be struggling with a given subject at school, the computer can step in with any number of games, that foster, the kind of curiosity in children which encourages them to learn, and to enjoy themselves while they do so.

Some teachers and educationalists believe that educational computer games for kids offer the potential to “personalise” learning by allowing pupils to learn at their own pace and have more control over how they learn.

Also, some children have found that learning through video games has helped them better understand difficult concepts, become more engaged in the subject matter and practice skills

Whether the subject matter is reading, writing or arithmetic, there are many computer games and software that can be used as a powerful and enjoyable tool for children to learn valuable educational skills in just about any field.
