Kids Learning Games
Having Fun With History

Kids learning games, help them along with history. History is an important part of our lives it is the reason we are what we are today.

For children it can be an exciting adventure by dressing up and pretending to be some one from the past, King or Queen, an Egyptian or even playing Cowboys and Indians.

Looking back at your own family history, is a brilliant way of looking at history.

From the clothes they wore, to the way they lived.

This is a good time to help your child learn about their ancestors.

What they did for a living, where they lived, and how they lived.

You could encourage your child to talk to an elderly family member to learn more about your family’s history, looking through photo albums is an excellent way of actually seeing the differences, by what clothing they wore compared to today.

Also help your child understand that their own lives are different from those of people in the past, help them to begin to recognise why people acted as they did and why some events happened.

When doing Kids Learning Games and History Activities use words about the passing of time, such as before, after, along time ago, in the past and put events in order. So that your child will realise that some things happened before anyone living now was born.

Show your child what a family tree looks like, then plan and start drawing up your own family tree.

This will give you opportunity to look back through history. Who could they be related to?

Some one famous?

By looking up you family your child will have a strong sense of where they come from, an understanding of how different things are now, from years ago.

Don’t forget the holidays we celebrate, take the time to teach your child in a fun way about the festive holidays, why we celebrate them and the history behind them.
